Mediation

Mediation is a process in which a neutral (the mediator) facilitates discussion between the parties and guides the parties toward finding their own resolutions.

Mediation is a confidential process which permits the parties to speak openly without fear that what has been said may be used against them.  This ability to speak openly leads to solutions and settlement.

Mediation may take several hours, a day, or longer.  The length depends on the complexity of the issues and how well prepared the parties are.  The use of mediation is typically much less expensive than the costs and legal fees associated with traditional trial preparation and trial.
